RELAX! Your Ex Isn’t Watching Your Story.

Let’s start with an uncomfortable question.

Who was that Story really for?

No, seriously.

Was it for your close friends?

Or did you spend seventeen minutes choosing between IMG_4836 and IMG_4841 because there was a tiny voice in your head whispering,

“If they see this, they’ll know I’m doing fine.”

Be honest.

We’ve all been there.

The holiday post.

The birthday glow-up.

The “accidentally” perfect selfie.

The mysterious bouquet with no explanation.

The dinner table where the second plate was strategically cropped out.

Somewhere between healing and posting, we all become part-time creative directors.

Not because we’re trying to impress the internet.

Because we’re hoping one specific person sees it.

The Funny Thing Is…

They’re probably not watching.

I know.

That hurt a little.

But think about it.

While you’re wondering whether they noticed your new haircut, they’re probably arguing with Bolt over surge pricing.

While you’re posting “Life’s been beautiful lately,” they’re trying to remember where they kept their passport.

The truth is far less dramatic than we imagine.

Your ex is living their own life.

Just like you’re supposed to be living yours.

We’ve Turned Moving On Into A Performance.

Somewhere along the way, healing became… aesthetic.

You’re not just healing.

You’re healing beautifully.

On a yacht.

In Santorini.

At brunch.

With flawless lighting.

We post captions like,

“God’s timing.”

“Soft life only.”

“What’s meant for me will find me.”

Nothing wrong with that.

Unless you’re secretly hoping one particular person reads between the lines.

Because then…

It’s no longer self-expression.

It’s PR.

The View Counter Has Become A Personality Test.

Let’s talk about something nobody admits.

Checking who viewed your Story.

Once?

Normal.

Twice?

Understandable.

Seven times?

Now we’re gathering data.

You know exactly when they watched it.

How quickly.

Whether they skipped.

Whether they watched the next one.

At this point, you’re not using Instagram.

You’re conducting market research.

Here’s The Plot Twist Nobody Likes.

Sometimes…

It’s not even about your ex anymore.

It’s about the version of yourself that still wants validation from someone who no longer has access to you.

Read that again.

Because that’s the real conversation.

The Story isn’t for them.

It’s for the part of you still asking,

“Do I still matter?”

And that’s a much bigger question than Instagram can answer.

Imagine This…

Imagine posting something beautiful…

…without wondering who saw it.

Imagine taking a trip…

…without thinking,

“This will definitely shock somebody.”

Imagine getting flowers…

…and your first instinct isn’t,

“This picture will eat.”

Freedom isn’t deleting your ex.

Freedom is forgetting they were ever part of your audience.

The Most Attractive Thing You’ll Ever Do…

…move on quietly.

Not secretly.

Quietly.

There’s a difference.

Quietly means your life is so full that you forget to perform it.

You stop trying to prove you’re happy.

Because you’re too busy being happy.

Ironically…

That’s when people start saying,

“You’ve changed.”

Exactly.

That was the point.

The next time something amazing happens…

Don’t post it immediately.

Sit with it.

Enjoy it.

Tell your friends.

Laugh a little longer.

Be fully there.

Then ask yourself one question.

“If nobody online ever saw this… would it still make me happy?”

If the answer is yes…

Congratulations.

You’ve started living for yourself again.

Your ex isn’t watching your Story.

And even if they are…

So what?

The best revenge was never looking happy online.

It was becoming so genuinely fulfilled that you stopped caring who was watching.

Life gets surprisingly peaceful when your audience becomes smaller…

…and your joy becomes bigger.

Over To You.

What’s one thing you’ve stopped doing because you realised you were doing it for someone else’s attention?

Or…

Be honest.

Have you ever checked to see if your ex watched your Story?

This is a safe space.
